To better support students and parents, please find registration information for the upcoming Driver Education term included below.
Where can students go for registration information?
Once Driver Education courses are finalized, they are published on the Driver Education Course Finder on the Manitoba Public Insurance website (http://apps.mpi.mb.ca/DL/CourseFinder.aspx)
When does registration for the upcoming term begin?
Registration for the winter/spring 2017 term (includes courses with a start date between January 1 and June 30) will be available at the start of business on November 21, 2016. Courses will be available on Course Finder for students and parents to view on November 17, 2016.
How does reciprocity and the Student Admittance form work?
Students are grouped in one of two registration phases based on their reciprocity (determined by which students a host school allows into their courses):
- Primary (usually reserved for students attending the host school) – Students in this group may register for courses as soon as registration is available. For the upcoming term, primary registration runs from November 21, 2016 to December 11, 2016.
- Secondary (open to students from other schools or divisions as determined by the host school) – Students in this group may register for courses three weeks after the course has been available to the primary group. For the upcoming term, secondary registration runs from December 12, 2016 to the course start date.
The Student Admittance Form is only given out by a host school to a student who is not included in the school’s reciprocity (meaning the student is not included in their primary or secondary registration phase). Student Admittance forms cannot be used to bypass primary registration phase. If you choose to issue a form before secondary registration opens, the student must wait until the secondary registration phase begins to register.
